A few years ago my local Campbells soup factory did a huge sale for veterans. We were able to go into the factory and get cases of discounted canned goods for UBER cheap. Like, $5 for en entire flat of canned foods. One of the things I stocked up on then was cream of mushroom, and cream of chicken soups. About 6 months ago I realized we were just now getting to the end of what we had stock piled.

Canned Cream Of Mushroom Soup

I’ve been trying to get away from canned goods and all the preservative. I had the thought that I would love to have a cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup base just ready to go and in my pantry. That way whenever a recipe called for it I could easily whip it up and I’d know what all the ingredients were. After some trial and error this easy cream of mushroom soup shelf stable base was born.

Storage

The best and easiest way to store this base is to place it into a glass jar and vacuum seal the lid so there is no air. This allows the base to stay shelf stable for years. If you don’t have a vacuum sealer just store in a tightly closed jar and keep away from light and moisture.

Cream Of Mushroom Soup Base

Cream of Mushroom Soup Base, is a shelf stable pantry item that is used in combination with water or milk to make cream of mushroom soup.

Instructions
 

  • Mix all the ingredients into a bowl. Store in glass mason jars.
  • When ready to make into soup add 1/2 cup of powdered mix with 1 1/2 cups of water or milk and heat until thickened.
