Delicious Soup Bread Bowl Recipe
My husband was recently craving Panera Bread. Looking at my budget there was no possible way for me to be able to squeeze a dinner for 5 at Panera. I asked him what in particular he was craving, and he said the bread bowls! I love cooking from scratch and took this as a wonderful opportunity to satisfy his craving and save us money. These bread bowls were SUPER EASY, and would paired wonderfully with any soup. We used my chicken goop soup recipe for these this night. You can’t go wrong with these delicious copycat Panera Bread Bowls.

Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups Warm Water
- 2 1/4 tsp Active Dry Yeast 1 Packet
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil extra virgin
- 1 egg white
- 1 tbsp water
Instructions
- Pour the very warm water into a kitchen bowl and add the yeast and sugar. Let sit for 10 minutes
- Add the dough hook if using kitchen mixer and mix on low. If not using a mixer just mix with your hands. Slowly add in the flour and salt. Add the olive oil and keep mixing until the dough comes together in a ball.
- Place dough in a large greased bowl. Cover and let rise for one hour, or until doubled in size.
- Divide the dough into 3 pieces. Roll each piece until it is a smooth ball. Pull part of the top of the bread down on all sides and bring together at the bottom so the ball is smooth. Place each ball onto a baking sheet covered with parchment paper and cover. Let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix together egg white and water. Brush each ball of dough with the egg wash mixture and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Once cool, use a knife to cut a round piece from the top and a spoon to remove the inner filling to create the bread bowl. Fill with soup of choice and enjoy!
