Budget For Christmas The Normal Way

So most of you are reading this thinking I’m going to say that we pull x amount of money to the side each week or month and put it in a nice little glitter envelope labeled Christmas 🎄 welp that’s certainly not how I do it here! With my eldest son turning 18 last month I only have to think about my youngest 2 children and how we will budget for Christmas 2023.

My Way

What if I told you you don’t need a fancy envelope system to budget for Christmas. In fact, I don’t want you to “put back” ANY money.

Some of you are probably so lost…. What is this madness she’s talking about?

I budget for Christmas by using only rewards and cash back from purchases I was already making all year.

Think about EVERY-TIME you go to the store, get gas, or grab a coffee you could be putting $ into your Christmas fund.

Now you don’t need an excuse to go get that Starbucks coffee because you can say it’s for the Christmas fund of course. Lol 😂

The Basic Everyday Rewards

I’m not saying you should go get the credit card with the highest cash back rewards but by all means if you have a card you do use, be sure to look into that. I personally do not have one but if I ever open a new one I will be comparing cards with that perk.

Ibotta– if you haven’t heard of Ibotta it’s an 100% free app. Once you download it, you will be able to look through the rewards and “digitally clip” the ones you plan to purchase.

The next app I use is FETCH. I love this app because it doesn’t matter what you bought, every receipt you upload gives you $ back. For both apps you can either request gift cards or connect your bank account and get the cash! I personally buy a lot from Amazon and use my points in November for any Christmas gifts I can get from Amazon.

The final app I use is specially for gas and restaurants. UpSide is the perfect way to earn cash back for the gas you use. They’ve recently expanded to also offering cash back for restaurants! Now I don’t feel bad when we want Dominos Pizza! you can also earn extra cash back by referring your family and friends. Every time they get gas you earn money for your fund.

In Closing

In conclusion, I hope you found these tips and tricks helpful. Putting money back into your pocket will help as the price of everything goes up.
